"Steins;gate" nasce come visual novel (videogioco) nel 2009, sviluppato dalle case software 5pb e Nitroplus. Il successo fu tale che poi ne furono tratti diversi media, tra cui un anime.
Il suo sequel è "Steins;Gate Zero"
